A good QC decision confirms that the item looks right. A dispatch-ready decision goes further: the item also needs a clear declaration, a compatible shipping line and enough saved evidence to resolve a quote or delivery exception. This August checklist covers the hand-off between those two decisions.

1. Turn each item into usable parcel data

Save a plain-language product name, material, intended use, quantity and unit value. Avoid vague descriptions such as “gift”, “sample” or “accessory”. For mixed parcels, keep separate lines for different product types so the declaration can be understood without opening the seller page.

2. Flag regulated and restricted goods early

Batteries, liquids, cosmetics, food, electronics, toys and children’s products can require a specialist line or additional documents. For US-bound regulated consumer products, CPSC mandatory eFiling for most imported products took effect on July 8, 2026. If a seller cannot provide required model or certificate information, changing routes after warehouse arrival may not solve the problem.

3. Check the complete parcel against the line

• Confirm the destination and every item category are accepted.
• Compare actual weight with volumetric weight after packing.
• Read insurance coverage, exclusions, evidence and claim deadlines.
• Save the route name, estimated range and quote date before payment.

4. Review customs impact before consolidation

For EU-bound low-value e-commerce parcels, the temporary €3 customs duty is charged for each different category of goods according to tariff classification, not automatically once per parcel. A mixed haul can therefore create several charges. Compare the extra customs categories with the base freight saved by consolidation instead of assuming one large box is always cheapest.

5. Keep a dispatch evidence folder

1. Seller invoice and product URL;
2. warehouse arrival record and QC photos;
3. packing photo, actual weight and dimensions;
4. declaration preview, insured value and final quote;
5. tracking number and first physical carrier scan.
